A wave of Russian attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine has resulted in the deaths of at least eight people and left 30 others wounded over the past 24 hours, according to reports from local authorities on September 20. Tragically, the casualties include a child who succumbed to injuries sustained in a strike on the Kyiv Oblast a day earlier.
According to Kyiv Oblast Governor Tymur Tkachenko, the child and their mother were initially wounded in an attack on September 19 and transported to a medical facility for care. Tkachenko confirmed the child’s passing the following morning.
The massive offensive saw Russian troops launch 138 attack drones targeting Ukraine, though the Ukrainian Air Force successfully intercepted 101 of them. However, the strikes that made it through air defenses caused significant civilian casualties across various regions:

Sumy Oblast: Two men (aged 45 and 58) and two women (aged 56 and 76) were killed, and five others were injured.

Kherson Oblast: Three people were killed, and 11 others, including a child, were wounded, according to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin. Two of these injuries were caused by drone attacks in Kherson on the morning of September 20.
